YOUTH

EARN COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS IN YOUR OWN NEIGHBORHOOD!

If you’re in middle school or high school and looking for a way to earn volunteer service hours for school, why not start right here in Kings Park? You can join the Kings Park Youth Community Service committee and immediately have a positive impact on your resume, not to mention fulfilling community service requirements for the various classes and programs at Lake Braddock. Our roster has been steadily growing over the last few years, and the more volunteers we have, the more we can help improve our community.

Some of the activities we’re planning include:

  • Leaf raking
  • Volunteering at the children’s holiday party in December
  • Volunteering at the community potluck dinner in March
  • Weeding and planting flowers at the entrance sign areas (one weekend day in the spring)
  • Helping with Kings Park Cleanup Day (one weekend day usually on a Saturday in May)

If you have a volunteer idea to improve Kings Park that you would like to pursue for community services hours, email Susan Metcalf at susan.metcalf@verizon.net.

Also, the committee is open to teens who live outside the neighborhood. If you and a friend want to join together, we’d love to have you!
